Youporn, myspace, google

It is amazing to me that youporn continues to hold the top spot in keyword searches.  Not that I dislike porn, it can be fun to watch, but it has never been a driving force in my life.  Just in case the jury was out on the question of sex selling I guess we have our answer.

I had a classmate in graduate school who had a porn website. This was in the early days of the internet, around 1995.  I remember going by his house and he was always playing video games.  HE never really needed to work since he made more than enough money from his website.  The problem was he never felt comfortable earning money that way.

Eventually he got rid of the site.  I don't know if he sold it or simply shut it down, but he had trouble with his conscious and didn't want to continue to earn a living that way.  He joined MBA's without borders and was assigned to the Ukraine. The last I heard he was still there, having married a Ukrainian girl and was operating a nightclub.

I am sure that there are a lot of people who would call him crazy for giving up what to a lot of people would be an easy life.  It seems there is not much respect for shame any more or for trading an easy life for hard work, but I always respected him for that.

I think it is wonderful that (a) your friend has a conscious and (b) he pays attention to it. As I am a huge believer in ethics, integrity and honesty, it makes total sense why he would shut the site down -- more power to him for realizing what is important in his life. He sounds like a wonderful friend. It is pathetic that porn sites rank highest -- it is a sign of a lot of people with unbalanced lives. Sex is an important (and fun) part of life but that is what it is -- a part not the whole. This is one of the key items I work on in life empowerment mentoring -- balance in life.

Hey Steve,

I have mixed feelings about all that, YouPorn, RedTube, XTube. It's actually what it teaches us about ourselves, what we find titillating, any good techniques to learn (more in other vids than that stuff, but I'll feature that at my website likely in May and will blog about it at the time, a few ppl may faint, but I can live with that.).

I find some women are very judgmental of men enjoying porn. hello? duh? Naked women. Sex. What was a surprise here? Now some of the fetishes, well, you just have to have a sense of humor and skip over those pages.....

And the flip side for women is they often haven't given themselves full person to embrace and ENJOY their own sexuality. So, that fear of it is also expressed in their judging.

It's that if that is ALL you are doing, your appetite is only being gratified and not satisfied. So, you will ever crave more.

My attitude?

Turn it off.

Go find some LIVE GIRLS (lol!), go on dates, and Make Your Own Porn! (namely have a great sex life with her, filming it is optional, of course!)

Youporn Never been there whats that?????

No I know what you mean, one would hope that there are other things on peoples minds and there would be better things they can spend their time one but sex is one of the three needs in our life, so it's not suprising to me that it does rake at the top. The other two can be construed in a number of different ways so it there will be a loss of pinpointing

I do give people credit when they walk away from profitable situations, I actually just posted a story on my blog that exemplefies what happens when people don't follow what makes them happy

Get Laid, Get Paid and Live Forever. The three things we all want. The problem is watching porn accomplishes none of those three. What you get is far short of the real thing. We have become a society of spectators, I love sports but am much more likely to watch that participate. I was a jock and the moment I get into the competition I love it. But a body at rest tends to stay at rest. Well taking Kevin Hogan's course has certainly got me moving. This is tiring and great at the same time.

Wow, I thought "youporn" was a joke when I read the title. Didn't know it existed. If anyone has read my blog, they know I've had the babysitter and her boyfriend performing "youporn" in my guest room!!! hahahhaha All kidding aside, I think I would have made the same choice. My friend keeps telling me that I should sell pharmaceuticals, and thinks I would make a lot of money doing it. But, I just can't. No offense to anyone in the industry, but I think that many drugs on the market do more harm than good. I am not totally a hollistic believer, and I do take some medications, but I was able to drop my cholesterol level not by cutting things out of my diet as much as by eating the right things. So I think I'd feel like a hypocrit and not feel good about myself if I sold pharmaceuticals.

hahahaha, I just looked at my last post and I failed to mention in the sentence what it was I would make the same choice about. I just got through mentioning that my babysitter and her boyfriend were making "youporn" in my guestroom and then in the next sentence I said "I think I would've made the same choice." LOL that didn't come out right!
